ALGUNAS DE LAS OBRAS DE STEFAN ROLOFF

ZAAR
"ZAAR" is the video for Peter Gabriel's LP "Passion", the sound track for Martin Scorcese's 1988 film "The Last Temptation of Christ". Stefan Roloff created the video in 1987, Peter Gabriel added his music in 1988. In 199, the video was used in the film "The Bone Collector" with Angelina Jolie and Denzel Washington. LINDEN HOTEL
In his site- specific installation at the former Stasi remand- prison in Potsdam, Stefan Roloff re-constructs real experiences. He projects video- footage of nine former inmates as silhouettes into their cells. Their ages and faces are not recognizable. Their resulting anonymity removes the time frame and focuses on their accounts. (the installations' videos average length is 30 min.) "Stefan Roloff has attempted to create a sense of the pictorial layers or accretions as simile to a painting over time, analogous that is to the forty year period of the interrogated and incarcerated interviewees." Mark Gisbourne, 2010, catalogue essay, accompanying Stefan Roloff's exhibition at the former Stasi prison in Potsdam.
The Red Orchestra. Movie Trailer
"Stefan Roloff's documentary, Red Orchestra, is essential viewing for anyone who seeks to understand the dynamics of resistance in Nazi Germany. Roloff has gone straight to the sources -- in many instances, members of his own family -- to provide first-hand accounts of this extraordinary resistance group. The result is a thrilling and inspiring saga -- as well as first-rate documentary film-making."
